The Hare and Hounds is a really nice looking village pub.
Once inside here the pub had a cosy feel to it with beams on the ceiling and cottagy type furnishings, this is a Samuel Smiths tied house and the one real ale they brew was on here the Old brewery bitter was a realy nice drink.
This pub was doing a lot of food trade but drinkers were made just as welcome and i quite enjoyed having a drink in here.

We have been regulars at this pub many years now; we even had our wedding reception there in June 2006 outside in the very big beer garden. It has always been a very friendly cheerful village pub, the previous landlords were always easy to chat with and it’s great that the replacement landlords are just as nice friendly and welcoming. There is always a very good selection on the menu, especially the specials board from which every thing is cooked fresh to order. Great pub, great landlords, excellent value for money.

We visited based on Sandra's recommendation and the lasagne was very well recommended (and comes in large and small portions)and the welcome considering it is under temporary management until some time in January. Warm welcome, even warmer fire and excellent Sam Smith's Ale delivered by horse dray. It even has Sam Smith's Organic Cider and their ethical orange juice. We could also see what Sandra said about the fish and chips. We will certainly visit again when in the area.
