Visited in May and my experience was just a step down from Quinno's in the previous review. Three hand pulls at the bar but all with turned round clips. I decided there was nothing to stay for and left the premises.

Enter through a revolving door, which gave me high hopes for something upmarket given its * CAMRA Inventory rating but what I got was a scruffy and unkempt place with the bob-a-job barmaid sat the wrong side of the jump. Relatively large inside, though a chunk of character has gone by glooping the woodwork in light grey paint. Just the one cask, TTL, which in fairness was quite tidy (NBSS 3.5). No real reason to do this one at present unless you're a completist; feels like it's waiting for death or renewal and appears to have slipped somewhat from the place described in more recent reviews.

Three years since my last visit here, and I would say there's been an improvement in presentation and the beer remains at a high quality. Only two beers, Timothy Taylor Landlord (NBSS 4.5) and Settle Jericho Blonde. This was the best Landlord I've had for many a long year, better even than in Timothy Taylor pubs, and better than at the Fat Cat in Sheffield, where they really know how to look after their beers. My trip to Settle this time was courtesy of a free ticket I was given by Northern in compensation for a cancelled train from Hull to Sheffield earlier in the year. Hoping for some more cancellations in 2023!
