A recently refurbished and significantly modernised Old Mill House.
Inside it feels like an up to date gastro pub and has a menu focusing on gourmet burgers to match. Don't be put off, it's been well done and retains some original features. The friendly and professional governor was fascinating on how the building was re-done and some of the issues faced along the way.
Beers on were all Old Mill: Blonde Bombshell, Three Rivers and Traditional Bitter. The Three Rivers was decent enough and refreshing on a warm evening.
It's upmarket for Selby but well worth a visit for the solid and reliable Old Mill beers.

There has been an expensive refurb and a name change, with the emphasis now on dining and Yorkshire ale.The interior has been opened out ,the bar now moved right to the back of the building while the decor is stylish, modern with some points of interest. There is an eclectic mix of furniture with the area around the bar feeling much more pub like ,with it's chunky wood furniture and high stools. The landlord is an experienced publican and was chatty and knowledgeable about the town, surrounding countryside and the local pub scene. The food is cooked by the wife and features gourmet burgers and the like.
The pub is still owned by Old Mill Brewery and will offer three of their handpumped ales ,although on my trip the Blonde Bombshell was still settling, leaving Traditional Bitter and seasonal Three Rivers ,in decent nick.
Good to see this pub open, hopefully the folk of Selby will welcome the change but it's early days.Old Mill beers are not the most exciting, but with so many pubs in town devoid of real ale ,this place is worth popping into if you are on a crawl.

I was looking forward to doing the Albion Vaults because it is an Old Mill tied house.
Once inside there is a squarish shaped room to the front with the bar facing, the floor is part carpeted and tiled, the seating bench type and chairs.
There is a separate room to the rear which has a pool table and darts board in it,the seating in this room is bench type.
I had a drink of Old Mill bitter which went down very well and was also quite cheap.
It is a shame the background music was crap.
This is a decent enough pub to have a drink in.
