Old Boots left this review about The Queens Head
Stone built pub in a corner position at one end of a long thin village, partly hidden behind some other buildings. A two roomed pub with the right hand room being an Indian restaurant and takeaway. The bar to the left is divided into three distinct areas, a large part with the counter and fireplace, a semi-walled raised area to the right at the back and a pool table taking up what's left.
The bar is furnished with throne like chairs and walnut tables, there is also a large screen, games machine and a dart board. At one end of the pool table is another big screen and at the other a “Ring the Bull” set-up. Décor is typical country pub with lots of brassware, mainly horse brasses plus bottles and whisky jugs on shelves and hanging from the beams. The rough plastered walls have the odd photo and the more traditionally furnished raised area has a big brewery mirror and an unusually sideways mounted clock. Cask beers from Black Sheep (bitter), John Smiths and Taylors (Landlord) plus the usual kegs etc. My beer was average and a bit chilly. One of two pubs in the village, this one appears the more popular locally judging by the relative numbers of customers in each.
