A fair-sized traditional pub with a well-run feel. The smart and newly-decorated lounge runs along the front, with a long velvetty banquette under the windows and a small raised area opposite holding a couple of tables which looked like it could act as a atage. One screen at the end was showing sports but with the sound off. Down the side and back is the noisier public bar, with heavier sports TV content and pool table, while there is a garden at the rear. Draught ales were a little disappointing in the shape of Tetley's Cask and Doom Bar, condition not the best and the brim was not troubled even by the over-large head. it might have been an unlucky day but the beer could certainly do with improvement, otherwise a nice pub.
