Old Boots left this review about Masons Arms
Biggish local in a sprawling village between Harrogate and Ripon. There are two very good pubs in the village, this is my prefered one. Three handpumps with well kept Tetley Bitter and Mild, although there are frequent guests. Multiple drinking areas all comfortably furnished in traditional style. A mix of old and new photos, mirrors and adverts with Britannia tables and a wood burning stove completing a traditional but not old fashioned style. There is a wide front bar with several distinct areas including a pool room at the rear end of the pub and a more formal dining area at the back at the other side. It's a minor quibble but like many pubs that do food this one would benefit from an air extractor, this has become much more noticeable since the smoking ban.
