A large old town pub very much catering for locals rather than tourists. It has a slightly run down feel, although some redecoration was under way. There is however something comforting about being greeted by the pub dog bringing his ball to be thrown! To the right of the central bar is a lounge area, with a dartboard, while to the left is a pool table area, also with a dartboard. Sports TVs proliferate and there is a handy rack of betting slips for the local bookies. Despite an old grill sign, it does not appear that food is currently served. Draught beers however included Bombardier, Caledonian Edinburgh Castle and Jennings Cumberland.

The Pike and Heron is in the middle of Hornsea and it looked a bit run down from the outside with two boarded up windows on the second floor things did'nt improve that much once inside there was one largish room with different drinking areas and this room seemed very down at heel.
There were no real ales on here with the only bitter being John Smiths smooth crap so i had a Guinness which was a decent drink.
