after a recent change in ownership, the macintosh arms has now returned to its former glory, with clean and tidy be it a traditional pub with the highest standard of real ales, recently awarded a cask marque, a regular selection of alternating guest ales and wide selection of drinks available a reasonable price, the atmosphere is fantastic one of the few pubs you can walk in alone and end up having one of the best nights, there is always a friendly face in the macintosh. the pub host's regular band night's, DJ discos and theme nights
final thought the macintosh arm's is definitely Goole's premier rock/ biker pub

Comfortable, old fashioned bar, though non the worse for it. Busy carpets, teak tables and that type of thing, there are soft benches around the central bar. The light wood beams (again traditionally old fahioned) covered in pump clips.
Good quality beer, if a little warm for my taste. The landlady seemed surprised at my visit, before 11am

I visited the Mac again yesterday on my way back to Hull from Sheffield. In the last 20 years, anytime that I have been in the area I have popped in to this wonderful traditional basic three roomed boozer set around a central bar. I have always received a warm welcome, particularly from the licensee when on duty. I have never had a bad pint, whatever my choice. The standard beers are supplemented by a regularly changing guest beer and an annual beer festival (hence all the pump clips!). If in doubt, follow the landlord s choice of Burton & Mild mixed. In addition, the pub also stocks real cider.
Originally a magistrate's court, it is a Grade II-listed building featuring pictures of Old Goole and has a marvellous glass ceiling above the pool bar area.
There is no questioning the commitment to real ale and this will be recognized on November 28th, 2010 when the local CAMRA branch will be presenting two awards: one for "Long Service to Real Ale" and one for "Continuous Good Beer Guide Entries".
I have no hesitation in highly recommending the Mac at a time when traditional pubs are now becoming a rarity.
