Dawn Milne tells us that "the pub reopened on May 19th 2017 and is open Wed-Sat 11am-11pm and Sunday midday-10.30pm. Offers lunches and evenings meals wed-Sat, Sunday lunch. Also music nights (every other Wednesday) and quiz nights."

The freehold to The Royal Oak has been bought by the Hail Weston Pub Company. No date had been set for the re-opening but it is hoped that the first pints would be pulled at the Grade II-listed pub in the spring, after refurbishment works had taken place.
