Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Wellington Inn
Upmarket food-led pub that was quite busy with diners on my Friday lunchtime visit. It was one of those pubs where the initial greeting is "have you booked". Certainly more of a restaurant, but still with the feel of a traditional pub.
There are a number of rooms. The one containing the bar was the busiest with all tables taken. Behind this was a small and dark room with two or three tables, where I was directed to. Beyond that towards the kitchen were another couple of rooms with all tables set out for dining, but none in use.
Theakston Best Bitter is the regular beer. A guest was Timothy Taylor Knowle Spring. It was all a bit too pretentious for my liking.
