This quintessential English pub dates from 1647. The pub consists of a long lounge and bar, with a lower level split into two small drinking areas. There were two log burning stoves and lots of collectable jugs hanging over the bar. The ale list was chaulked up on a peice of slate near the bar. There were six ales on offer on our visit. I went for the Elgoods Feathers Tickler and Great Oakley Tiffield. Food is served daily and the pub has traditional opening hours.
