The Green Dragon has a U-shaped interior with a central bar counter that faces seating across the front windows. Seating is also found up the right and in the left rear is a pool table and dartboard. This pub sports area had some background music playing and the rest of the pub had sound from Sky Sports News that was on the televisions throughout. My visit was before any football kicked off. The bar supports two hand pumps, one was unused and the Sharp’s Doom Bar was off. So the draught selection was standard keg alongside Birra Moretti and Staropramen. Out the back is an enclosed paved split-level beer garden that is lined with picnic tables. I think this was the liveliest and most sport orientated place I found on a recent midweek evening crawl of Thetford.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Green Dragon

Obviously aimed at a very different demographic to most other pubs in Thetford, and the first time in more than four months I have heard the sort of loud Friday night music than one might once have encountered on a regular basis. Anyway, this is quite a good looking pub from the street, and although the unsympathetically refurbished interior disappoints (as is so often the case with Craft Union outlets), at least it is still there and open for business. It does do real ale too, albeit just Doom Bar (remarkably priced at £1.80) from a pair of handpumps.
