The Chairman left this review about York Tavern

I was just passing (honest guv!), saw the handpulls through the window and noted how busy the pub was, so I felt the need to investigate further. Lacon's Contrast black IPA was my reward, a very nice beer at a fiver a pint. The reason it was busy was because this was a Thurday evening, which was quiz night, although I was there before they had actually started. Although it isn't in the GBG, the beer qulity might well be good enough in places other than Norwich. A little off the beaten track but well worthy of a detour.

This late Victorian back street corner pub is well worth a visit. Staff are friendly, customers are mixed and seemed like a decent bunch. Four ales on handpump, we went for the Woodfordes Sundew which was a right quaffable ale. Will call again

Alan Winfield left this review about York Tavern

The York Tavern is a back street corner pub.
I really liked this pub it had bare boards and there was a longish bar with five real ales on it i had a drink of Woodfordes Wherry and this was very nice the other beers were Sharpes Doom Bar,Adnams Broadside,York tavern Mandolin and a beer called Golden Bitter.
I thought this was a really nice pub and i would happily spend an afternoon in here.
