This art deco pub has two areas, one for dining. It is quite small, and still decorated inside in a 1970s style with varnished pine. The outside is painted, which is a shame, as it looks like a pastel coloured seaside attraction. The landlord and his wife are young, and as he was originally from near to where I live, we had a chat about how the pub was doing. He told me it was built in 1934. There are six real ales gravity served, and they are putting some different dishes on the menu, to differentiate themselves from the standard pub offerings. They were very friendy, and are really trying hard to make the pub successful. Well worth a visit.

The pub has once again changed hands and more improvements have been made. The beers are maintained to an excellent level by the Landlord and there is often entertainment on over the weekends. It is very seldom that you will find it quiet so you would be advised to book if you want to eat in their newly renovated restaurant.

Excellent pub with a friendly atmosphere.
Well kept range of beers and first class food.
Much better under new ownership.
