A rambling,battleship grey award winning pub on a backroad into Norwich. On our visit, on a cloudy May lunchtime, we sat in a little room opening off the busy and heavily timbered bar.Farming and brewing memorabilia were featured on the walls, and an attractive garden was visible outside.
Food features prominently; we had a fairly light meal as more was promised later in the day. As I recall, it was well presented and good value. A freehouse, the beer offering comprised a couple from Greene King, together with a peppery golden ale from the more local Brandon Brewery. Well conditioned, but too cold for my taste.
A small inner room, reached before the main restaurant area, held a bottle shop, featuring beers form local microbreweries. Looking at the events advertised around the pub, I’d think that the Pelican
