A quiet pub at the time of our visit on an early Sunday evening, with all tables set up for dining and nowhere that really looked like a place for drinkers, so we just leaned on the bar counter during our brief stay. There are four hand pumps serving Greene King IPA, Sharps Doom Bar and Timothy Taylor Landlord, with one spare. I yearn for the days when a pub like this would serve the local beer from the local brewery, but those days are long gone and now we can sample Doom Bar and Landlord in every picturesque village local the length and breadth of the country.
