Old Boots left this review about The Black Bull
Reopened recently after a short closure, its an old building multi levelled inside. The counter is straight ahead as you turn in from the entrance, three pulls and a thick horseshoe of kegs confront you. Casks of Harveys Sussex Best (G), Bass and Taylors Blonde, mostly low end kegs. To the right a few steps lead down to a seating area with tables and chairs. Further right up some steps is a sitting room with a dart board in one corner. Not a lively place but it’s just newly reopened.

Strongers . left this review about The Black Bull
The entrance of the Black Bull opens into a laminate floored seating area that is faced by a serving counter that supports Fosters alongside premium and mainstream craft keg, as well as three hand pumps, two of which were on drawing Black Sheep’s Best and Fuller’s Red Fox. In this bar area, that was being manned by the friendly governor, a muted television was airing Sky Sports while some low background music played. At the right-hand side of the counter some steps descend into a herringbone floored seating area to the right rear where there’s an impressive inglenook that includes a little window, they don’t make things like that anymore. Nearly all the tables were reserved from 19:00 for the weekly Tuesday evening quiz that kicks off an hour later. The pub was starting to fill up, so after a quick nose around where I noted another seating area, with a dartboard, to the far right, I decided to slosh down the decent pint of Fullers before making my way to the next pub.
