Visited mid December. Recently undergone an extensive refurbishment and resturaunt extension. Stocks a good real ale selection plus other beers, all seem well kept. Bar staff friendly and polite.
Ate in resturaunt - food was generally good quality although could have been better. Service a bit hit and miss and could be improved.
May have just been just the night we were in there, (Saturday), but the vast majority, (two thirds to three quarters), of drinkers in the bar area looked to be under 25yrs old - a number of which were obviously worse for the amount of drink they had consumed. Have heard this comment before about this pub and it did spoil the end of the night as it made my wife feel uncomfortable and nervous when we went to the bar area after our meal.
Would visit/eat there again but in no rush to go back. May try lunch time next rather than in the evening and also stay in resturaunt area and avoid the bar area if you're not into a lively youngsters bar area.
