Set in a dip in the B1105 road leading north from Fakenham and close to an old Tudor hall (East Barsham Manor), this pub appears more focused on food and accommodation than on the casual drinker.
Nevertheless, they had a couple of real ales from the local Barsham Brewery - Oaks & Golden Close IPA and the barman (a Luton Town fan) was a genuinely friendly guy who was interested in knowing what had brought us into his pub.
Clientele appeared to be more from the upper classes. But this pub was much better than I had anticipated.
