Village local that appeared closed when we first arrived on a Sunday afternoon. However, we headed around the back and found a few people drinking in an outdoor courtyard and an entrance to the inside where a few more locals were gathered in the bar.
We joined the locals in the main bar. They were a friendly and entertaining bunch, as was the landlord. Two other small rooms were unoccupied. We enjoyed several games of Shut The Box in a very traditional environment. Wherry is the regular ale. Abbot was the guest.
This is a pub a bit off the beaten track that currently opens from 4-8 on Wednesday to Saturday and 1-3 on a Sunday. So, a visit requires careful planning. Despite the average ale range, this was my favourite pub of the day in Norfolk.

Splendid little traditional village inn of several rooms. Strong food trade, which sounded excellent although not sampled. Ales from Woodfordes, Adnams and guests. No car park worth the name but easy to find a (sensible) space on nearby roads.
