Friendly village pub listed in the current 2024 Good Beer Guide. It can be found in the leafy village of Witcham, which apparently hosts the world peashooting contest. It had been held not long before I visited. The current incumbent of the title is pictured riding the white horse on the inn sign.

Inside, there are a couple of rooms with a fairly modern decoration. The room on the left of the entrance has a tiled floor and exposed brickwork. It also holds a pool table. The room to the right has a TV surrounded by sofas. Various pumpclips are displayed neatly around the walls. There is a games machine positioned discretely to the side of the bar.

There are 3 handpulls. For my visit, 2 were clipped with Elgood's Cambridge Bitter & Parkway Who's A Cheeky Monkey. I took a seat with half of the latter, whilst locals sat at the bar engaging in a bit of banter about the music choice. The Spice Girls were playing and apparently S Club 7 had been on shortly before I arrived. The landlord asked Alexa to play something a little more funky, but that didn't go down too well either. So, the ladies at the bar had Alexa put the Spice Girls back on. I was asked if I was a Spice Girls fan and the ladies seemed a bit upset that I was leaving before all of their greatest "hits" had been exhausted.

A friendly village pub that was probably my favourite of my day out in Cambridgeshire.
