The George was my final stop of a day in Norfolk. As with the King's Head Hotel across town, this felt more like a pub than a hotel. The main bar is quite large and there were 2 or 3 locals sat at the bar. 2 others walked in after me whilst I was waiting for the barmaid to appear. Elsewhere there were some large and vacant dining areas, whilst there was an outdoor yard at the rear where a guy was playing a guitar and singing. He seemed quite talented, or at least he did from the gents toilet (the Beef Madras consumed in the Romany Rye was already working wonders).

On the real ale front, I had Wherry, Ghost Ship, Directors & Wainwright to choose from. Decisions decisions. Given plenty of time to make my mind up before the barmaid finally appeared, I decided that no trip to Norfolk should be without a Wherry. However, it looked somewhat cloudy and lifeless when poured. To give the barmaid her due, she spotted this instantly and said we should let is settle to see if it cleared. I only needed to sniff it to confirm that I wouldn't be drinking it, especially not on top of the beef madras!

I switched my choice to the Woodforde's keg stout, called Albion which turned out to be a nice drink. It was probably more than the Wherry in cost, but I wasn't charged any more.
