They had on London Pride, Adnam’s Broadside, Sharp’s Atlantic, and Ember Ale (brewed by Black Sheep). There’s 20p off a pint for CAMRA members, and all real ales are £2.49 on Mondays. The only other drink worth mentioning is the water dispenser on the counter, labelled “Peckham Spring”, which is probably the only drink you could find in the dark!

Being an Ember Inns pub it obviously does food, although refreshingly no tables were laid for diners. There’s a lunchtime fixed price menu advertised at £5.49 for one course; £7.49 for two courses; and £9.49 for the full monty three courses. It’s a couple of quid more in the evenings with single course option being unavailable. Main courses include such pub grub staples as fish & chips or sausage & mash.

Inside it’s a bit more publike than most Ember Inns pubs I’ve visited. There are several interconnected areas that make it quite a large pub. Most areas are carpeted, but some bare-boarding, but for me it didn’t have that distinct hotel lounge look that most of this branding suffers from. There’s the usual mix of furnings – normal tables and chairs, tall tables/tall stools, and sofas/armchairs. There’s a large garden at the back, with a fair bit of seating on a raised area at the front.

If you’ve been in an Ember Inns pub before you’ll know what to expect. But this seems one of the better ones that I’ve visited, and seemed quite a civilised place on a Thursday afternoon.

This large Ember Inns pub has a lounge bar feel with the soft colours giving off an orange glow and the easy listening music sapping out any thoughts of getting bladdered. I think that most people go here to eat anyway and the food looked ok and was very reasonably priced. For a mainly dining pub I was surprised to see Bombardier, Nutty Black, Batemans GHB, Pride and Abbot Ale all available alongside a standard draught selection. If the quality of the ale is the same as the Guinness I would recommend it to others as I had a well poured pint that came in at a refreshing £2.90 a pint.

There is a large grassed beer garden out the back which has rows of picnic tables and also a covered shelter for the smokers. There are also a few more tables out the front along with a large car park to the side of the pub.

The staff were polite, but I don’t plan on returning here just for a beer again as I found it a little sterile.
