Prominent thatched pub on the village green in Wicken. The front entrance (labelled as staff only on my visit) leads into a dining area with tables set out for food. Off to the left and up some steps is a seating area with a pool table. A corridor leads to the kitchen and the toilets. It had artwork that was for sale on the walls.

The bar itself was the busiest room. It can be found off to the rear right-hand side with separate access from the car park at the side, where there is a strange chimney which acts as the entranceway. The bar also contains a jukebox and a bar billiards table. Cask ales are listed on a board, as the 3 handpulls are unusually located in the dining room. The choice was Sharp's Doom Bar or Lacon's Cloudless, with the third handpull unclipped. I opted for the Cloudless and went out to enjoy it at the picnic tables on the village green, which was another popular place for the local punters and their dogs in the summer sun. Some of the tables had umbrellas. Cloudless was quite a refreshing drop.

The car park also had some bike racks, which I've not noticed too often in pubs. Perhaps this is big cycling country. Also in the car park is a hairdressing salon.

Quite a nice pub this one. Despite the large dining room, I could only see a couple of customers in for the food. It did feel more like a drinkers' pub.

A very nice pub, has several real ales to taste. Also serves good quality food, the gammon was excellent.
