Previously The Swan, this former roadside inn has its roots in the 17th Century and still has architectural merit. It has its own small car park and a pleasant garden. The single U-shaped bar is pleasant and atmospheric, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. There is also a small function room. They even appreciated our correcting the French on the sign outside. Sadly, there is no real ale, just two pressure pumps dispensing Stella and something else unappealing. Nice enough to stop for a light lunch if you don't mind not having ale.
