An unwelcoming chain sports bar in a former shop in a row of commercial premises near the station. There was a gang of smokers blocking the entrance and looking disgruntled when asked to let us in, unpleasant looks once inside and no real ale. Sports matches were being screened, conversation was problematic and it smelled awful. I have no intention of returning.

This is the third Hennessey’s that I have visited in as many weeks and just like the other two there are more than enough screens for watching Sky Sports and GAA. There is also a dartboard at the rear and an awning out the front with a couple of barrels for the smokers to lean their pints on whilst chugging away. The barmaid was friendly, but a little tentative with me which I later realised was because there were signs up stating ‘MEMBERS ONLY’. I also found this to be the case in Captain Morgan’s in Eastcote and I am still unsure whether it is a usual weekend thing or was due to the FA Cup semi Final at Wembley down the road.
Unsurprisingly there is no Real Ale, but I was served a decent pint of Guinness from the standard draught selection.
I didn’t feel very welcome after seeing that I shouldn’t have been there, but I would return again if passing when a match is on Sky.
