A large town pub on a sizeable plot with its own car park, currently run by Star Inns. The garden has a covered patio where children are tolerated but not encouraged. There is a single large carpeted L-shaped bar, which has a couple of raised seating areas, while there is plenty of space for bar stools at the counter. There is a reconditioned 1960s brick fireplace and lots of football memorabilia on the walls. A separate games room holds a pool table. The food is based on the usual mass-produced stuff, plus Sunday roasts which look like better value for money. There are regular entertainment events and weekly karaoke evenings, plus live music and DJ evenings. Three ales on, GK IPA, Pride and Hobgoblin, all in poor condition. Fine as a local but not a venue of choice.
