Strongers . left this review about Great Western
The Great Western is now a desi pub that was doing a brisk trade during a recent Thursday evening visit. The red carpeted L-shaped interior has a central forward facing serving counter that supports standard and premium keg products. Split-level seating is found across the front windows opposite the counter as well as to the right where it feels more like a dining area. There is more seating up the long left-hand side where there’s a mix of furniture. Muted televisions throughout were airing cricket and horse racing via Sky Sports and there was some loud Indian pop music playing. I witnessed some amazing looking, and smelling, sizzling plates of food being delivered to some tables, I will be eating here next time I’m staying in the area. The demographic around these parts has certainly changed a lot in the last 50 years, but it’s great to see that this is still a proper community local that is probably better supported now than it was 30 years ago.
