This is a Fuller’s pub which had on Pride, Chiswick (£1.60 a half), HSB, and St Austell Proper Job as a guest. There was no food – at least on Saturday afternoon when I visited. I spotted an A-board advert outside saying that Mon-Fri, 11.00 AM to 5.00 40 PM there is 40p off pints, and 90p off bottled beer and cider.
This pub is on CAMRA’s National Inventory of pubs with historic interiors. In this case it is largely because it retains its original (inter-war I would say) multi-room format. I sat in the room on the left, which had a handful of normal tables and chairs, plus a dartboard, and which led through an archway to a larger room at the back. I guess this is the sports room as it had another dartboard, plus a pool table. On the right of the pub is another completely separate room, but as there was a children’s party on the go in here I wisely decided against exploring it. Sandwiched between the two main rooms is a cubby hole of sorts, but as it has a door to the street it must surely have been a jug and bottle bar at some stage.
I’ve seen this place described as “the pub that Fuller’s forgot”, as it doesn’t look as if it’s been subjected to the misplaced “improvements” of many of their pubs. It has all the hallmarks of preservation by poverty, although that can’t really be the case with Fuller’s. Anyway, it remains a very good example of what every pub would have looked like 50 or so years ago. It’s a basic pub – unlike most of this brewery’s pubs – but I rather like it despite its rather dilapidated state.

A pub that is divided into three separate ares.A small "lounge" type bar to the right,a larger bar in the middle and a back bar that has a pool table. This is a basic pub and could really do with a bit of a spruce up which may be about to happen as it is under new management.Fuller's beers on tap.
