Dating from the 1920s and originally two houses before becoming a pub to serve the housing estate that surrounds it, this is now the sole pub in Hanworth. Billing itself as a locals' boozer, but a friendly one at that, much is made of its live music nights (Fridays and Saturdays if you're interested) and Sunday roasts. Likely two separate rooms originally, the layout is an L-shape with front and side entrances, served by a requisite, L-shaped bar. The room entered into via the side entrance is deep and the smaller of the two. The larger is a squarish rectangle with raised stage in the window, upholstered bench seat against the three-quarter height wood panelling facing four rectangular tables and some standard chairs with armrests. A deep lino bar apron is accompanied by a brown patterned carpet. Plenty of paraphernalia on the walls to complete the decor, including photos of the Rat Pack, Bob Marley, The Jam, and old black and white one of the pub as well as a large one of a previous landlord and landlady hung above the bar. A sole ale - Fuller's London Pride - on one of two pumps (the second unclipped): £3.90 for the privilege and OK. A predominantly middle-aged male crowd in on a Monday night seemed harmless and music from a jukebox was a little on the loud side. OK, but not great.
