Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Star Inn
Very basic music pub with an alehouse-style interior of several small seating ales and a pool table at one end. Just one real available from the trio of handpumps, and that was a 'house' beer of unknown provenance.

On the recent Thursday afternoon I visited the Star Inn there were four locals sitting at the bar who, along with the woman pulling pints, were watching the Chase and other late afternoon TV programs. The second plasma screen at the front of the pub that overlooks a pool table and dartboard was off. At the rear of the pub is a seating area and a jukebox can be found on the wall.
The bar is stocked with standard draught and there are three hand pumps. One of these was unused and the Fuller’s London Pride was off leaving Bombardier as the lone ale option. I decided to join everyone else in the drinking of generic lager.
This pub opens at midday and there is a late license until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays because there is live music.
I found the service to be friendly, but I found the pub to be uncomfortable and a little bit grubby. I wasn’t surprised to see the live music advertised because this pub does feel like a music pub.

I've been there to watch bands play, and they have good bands on. It's just a shame that you can't actually see them as there's a great big chimney
breast in the way.
Located right by the river and the park you'd think they'd capitalise on the location for the tourist/family trade. They don't seem to.
And they have three hand pumps with rarely more than one ale on. It's a firm favourite of several of my drinking mates, but I can take or leave the place. As has been said before, it needs to decide what sort of pub it wants to be.
