The Royal Oak is a fairly large stand alone pub that is just off the main shopping area.
Once inside there is a largish single oblong shaped room which runs to the rear, the room is bare boarded, there is a long bar running down the left side, there is a small raised area to the front right which has a pool table on it,the front left side looks quite nice with it being carpeted, the seating is bench type and small stools.
There is a decent sized stage to the rear.
There were no real ales on the bar,so i had a drink of Guinness which was tasteless as usual, the keg bitter was Bank's bitter but this was also off.
The background music was very good,i heard tracks from Oasis and Led Zepplin during my short visit here .
This is a live music pub and some may consider it to be rough,i did'nt.

Certainly not the best pub you're ever going to go in. Open plan inside with a pool table to your left on entering. To the immediate right is a small raised area. Opposite the bar is a small curved seating area. Beyond the bar to the rear of the pub is a small area with a stage. The place is, quite frankly, a dump. It can be rough as arseholes with said arseholes in, especially at weekends. No real ales despite 3 unused handpumps on the bar.
