We frequently eat and drink in this bar and I have recommended it often to friends.
However, on our most recent visit the great barman that we knew as Dave no longer worked there and the service was not as good, but the food was excellent as we have always found.Best bar food in the area.

I found the place to be totally the opposite of the previous review; friendly bar staff and clientelle. They also do excellent fresh food with proper home-made chips. They always have three cask ales on offer apparently which are well kept and are usually from local brewers. I'll certainly be going back.

place is full of twopence halfpenny toffs who look down their noses at people.also bunch of moaning old gits in there
