Attractive looking pub from the outside, you enter into a small passageway as described below, lovely room at the rear of the pub where you could get comfy on a cold evening, if only they had some decent beer on. 3 pumps with 2 on, Wainwright Gold and TT Boltmaker. I didn't explore the rest of the pub, but there was a strange smell so I didn't hand around too long.

The Cheshire Cheese is a decent sized bare brick built pub.
Once inside there is a small passage which leads to a decent sized L shaped room to the rear, this room was quite nice with it being carpeted and having comfy bench seating and small stools, there is a smaller bar room to the front left.
I noticed two unclipped pumps on the bar, when i asked the youngish landlord if he had any real ales on he said"there is a beer festival going on outside it a tent with lots of real ales on and i will put two new beers on the pumps in the pub"i had a very nice well kept drink of Thwaites Wainwright, the other beer in the pub was Theakston Best.
This is a very pleasant pub to have a drink in.

Friendly place and a nice pub. A small thin area on entering with a larger area to the rear left. A small paved beer garden is to the right of the bar. Serves a small selection of real ales and it makes for a pleasant pub.
