next to the station but it is indeed a decent walk from the centre, it almost feels like a separate village, if you go through the linear park it will take about 20 minutes. It is however by far the best pub in Rainford, in my opinion, and quite busy with drinkers on a Thursday afternoon. Has a good selection of real ales and feels honest and down to earth for where it is.

This is a nice country pub over the road from Rainford station. A couple of real ales were on on my visit which, admittedly was over a year ago. The place seemed to be centering on food but it was a pleasant place to enjoy a drink. The beer garden at the back backs onto a very large farmers field. If you want to get to the next pub it'd be best to get the bus.
