Old Boots left this review about Cheshire Lines Inn

Allegedly the oldest pub in Southport although it has stylistic similarities to the nearby, better preserved Guest House, very much a pub of two halves, a reasonable Victorian but modernised front two drinking rooms with a still old style dining area at the back. Most punters were on Guinness or one of the several lagers from the two T-Bars. Four pulls with cider on one and a prosaic cask choice of Proper Job, Taylors Knowle Spring and Black Sheep Best in average order. The counter is in the larger right hand front room with a small snug to the left. Decor is based on the Cheshire Lines Committee railway, a conglomeration of railway companies who jointly ran lines around here.

Brainy Pool left this review about Cheshire Lines Inn

this is a good traditional pub well hidden away from the main areas of Southport. Friendly staff and customers that engage in conversation plus a few real ales made it a very worthwhile Thursday afternoon visit. Does a strong food trade, but in normal times also gets busy for its live music and entertainment.

Al Bundy left this review about Cheshire Lines Inn

A nice little pub situated on a quite street not far from Lord St. Has a very small front drinking area where the bar is and it opens out at the rear into a larger area for eating. A small outside area with benches for fair weather drinking. Real ale available.
