Brainy Pool left this review about Hope & Anchor
town centre pub with no ale and no character. has just had a refurb apparently but Mr Bundys review still largely applies, all shiny and new but virtually no decor of any description. It feels even more sparse with the COVID restrictions, the pool table remains though.

Al Bundy left this review about Hope & Anchor
A fairly bog standard pub. It has a nice exterior but sadly that's not the case inside. A standard two-roomed pub with a raised pool area to the left. A sectioned off room is to the rear right. Sparsely decored and stone flagged floors make it look rather grim. No real ale so its generic keg beers. Go to The Bard a few yards away if you want real ale.
