I would describe this pub as having four rooms, the back room having a separate area divided by pillars, plus the narrow bar across the front, which duplicates the beers available in the back, plus the snug on the right mentioned by Ray. There are traditional-looking pub fittings, but it is not heritage listed, so presumably these are either not original or have been mucked about too much. It was lively and friendly when I arrived during FA Cup coverage on Sunday afternoon, but most of the noise was coming from tables of uproarious lads who were not watching the football, but they must have been first rate comedians to judge by the frequent laughter.
I counted six cask beers, but the sole cider would not be counted as "real" by CAMRA. I went for Salopian Darwin's Origin and Ossett White Rat, which were both decent without being outstanding (NBSS 3.25 on average, £4 for two halves; cask beers are £2.50/pint Tuesday evenings after 6). I was only here because I'd been looking for a pub on a bus route, after injuring my leg on some ice the day before, so I was glad to get something positive out of it.

An excellent traditional pub consisting of a very comfortable front bar, with a side snug on the right, along with a good sized back room. The service was efficient even though it was busy on my Friday evening visit. Fellow customers were all friendly and welcoming and my beer, Big Bog Brewery Talus, was excellent.

a mixture of traditional and Greene King McPub. it actually works very well and was extremely busy this afternoon. great beer choice and I could have stayed longer, easily.
