A down to earth locals corner pub, no real ale on during my visit and not sure if that's a permanent state of affairs or not, probably one best left to the locals.

can't compete with the pubs next door to it but it's still a decent enough Dale Street boozer. nice enough inside with different styles of seating in a virtually open plan layout. I was surprised to find two real ales on the bar to be honest, Doom Bar and Cumberland today. the latter was drinkable, just. had a nice chat to some German communists, maybe this pub is famous there!

Has now reopened. No change interior wise though there is now real ale available. There are 4 handpumps on the bar but only one is in use at the moment, sadly that beer is Doom Bore, but its a start at least.

Closed. May reopen as a pub but for now its gone.

Situated between The Hole In The Wall and Rigbys this, though a fine looking corner pub, is a bit of a damp squib. As noted it doesnt do real ale and isn't in any rush to either. Pictures of ships from days gone by including a piece on Titanic bloke J Bruce Ismay. A party of Germans were in on this visit and I had a bizarre conversation with a Borussia Moenchengladbach fan about the merits, or lack of, Dean Friedman. If its real ale only you want then the ones either side would be a better bet.
