Still exactly as Al describes below, except for one critical thing. All the handpumps have gone and there's no real ale anymore. This must have happened some time ago as the barman told us that they don't sell it and they hadn't since he started about 4 years ago. It's still a pleasant place though and we were also by far the oldest people in on a Sunday afternoon. They now seem to specialise in pizza, both by the box and by the slice. It's not my kind of place either, but I quite liked it. Make room on that couch Al. :-))

This has now reopened as The Merchant. A largeish place with all bare walls and wooden and stone flooring. Its a long pub with an area for dining to the right of the servery and a thin area in which the bar is found. Its all long picnic style tables and benches in here. 4 handpumps dispense 4 guest ales that are a bit expensive. A courtyard to the rear is available to sit in which is mixture of wooden decking, benches and tables and fake grass. I was by far the oldest person in on this afternoon. I should hate it as its not really my kind of place but for some reason I don't. However I will discuss this with a psychiatrist.
