I came here as part of my tour of Liverpool's heritage pubs, as listed in Camra's book of those to be found in the north-west. At the time of my visit there was scaffolding around the building, but the interior doesn't seem to have been touched. There's no real ale and the pub has a slightly rough feel to it. There are still some interesting features (follow the link to Camra's heritage pubs website for a detailed description). A notice on the mantelpiece made me smile: "Soup of the Day: Beer". Or maybe it was a grimace.
