Bizarrely, the recommended starting point for a walk in the AZ City Walks in Liverpool book. I felt obliged to pay a visit.

No cask but the Guinness was in fine form. On checking on line banking, I was charged £2.35 - so I think I owe them money.

Looks tiny on the outside but long and thin, with a bar one side and banquette seating along the other wall. Small narrow tables that arent bolted to the floor. Intricate ceiling.

All pleasant enough.

Sadly this part of town is now karaoke central. However the 3 on this stretch very rarely have karaoke on, especially of an afternoon. This pub is a likeable pub without being great. The smallish single room is very traditional and you will usually find the older members of the drinking spectrum in here. It is connected to the next door pub, Rileys, by a shared covered outside area at the rear. No real ales available.

Unfortunatly this part of town has become a lot quieter than previously, but the Beehive has still managed to hold out, as it still retains its regulars and still gets busy at the weekend. Lots of keg, still no cask.
