Never a good sign when you enter a pub and the locals are drinking cans, which is either because the beer is crap or there is none available. In this case it was the latter,so i sampled half of Carling and got on my way.

The Shiredale is an estate pub that serves a council estate just off rochdale road.
Once inside this was a typical estate pub with a boisterous bar and comfortable lounge i had a drink in the bar and it seemed friendly enough to me.
This pub used to be a Wilsons tied house and there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Lees bitter and this was a decent drink the other beer was Wilsons bitter.
This pub is still open unlike many pubs in this area of Manchester.
