The Penny Farthing is a decent looking estate pub that was built in the early 80s,the pub faces the partitioned part of st annes road.
Once inside the pub had one large room that was divided into different drinking areas with some being raised, there was also a bar type area which had a pool table and darts board, the pub was carpeted and had comfortable bench seating and normal tables and chairs.
The pub is a Thwaites tied house and there was one real ale on the bar which was Thwaites bitter and this was a decent enough drink.
I thought this was a nice comfy pub which i would be happy to have as my local.
