The Park Hotel is a large Holt's pub that has been modernised a little since the pictures taken on here 11 years ago. It still has the feel of a modernised estate pub, despite being on the main road through Monton, which has seemingly become quite a trendy area.
There is a very large bar on the left-hand side and a vault, which is also quite large for a vault, on the right-hand side. The vault had a dartboard and a pool table and seemed to be favoured by the older locals. Younger locals seemed to be congregated near the central bar in the left-hand room, whilst there were a cluster of middle-aged locals at the far left-hand end of the bar, in a carpeted area. There were old black and white pictures of the area on the walls. Plants draped over the bar gave it a nice feel. There are also some outdoor tables to the front, overlooking the Monton Road.
Whilst not having the period features that many of the other Holt's pubs I'd been to have, the Park Hotel did have a better range of their beers. On cask, there was their Bitter, Two Hoots & 175 Pale Ale & Bootleg Fool's Gold & Chorlton Pale. On keg, there was Smooth, Black, Trailblazer Stout & Bootleg American IPA.
I ordered the Chorlton Pale, which was like vinegar. In fairness, the young bar staff changed it after a quick sniff. I ended up with the 175 Pale Ale instead, but the Chorlton Pale remained on.
With a couple of micropubs opposite, there's no real need to visit the Park. But it is more of a proper locals' pub than the micros. Although 5 cask ales seems to be stretching it a bit and the beer quality suffers as a result.

The Park Hotel is a Holts pub with a large lounge bar to the left and a public bar with a dartboard and pool table to the right. Televisions are located throughout for showing live sports, but only the ones in the public bar were switched on. The bar counter in the lounge support five handpumps, three of which were off leaving Bitter and Two Hoots as the cask ale options. Good place to watch the match, but not sure I would go in here any other time.

The Park Hotel is a typical 70s built pub that is situated on the busy monton road.
Once inside the pub had two decent sized rooms with a fairly nice bar, which had comfy bench seating and stools, the lounge was a lot smarter with bench seating and it was carpeted.
The pub is a Joseph Holt tied house, there were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Holts Bitter which went down very well, the other beer was Holts Mild.
I was quite happy having a drink in here,if its an Holts house then i am usually well pleased to drink in it.
