Strongers . left this review about The New Inn
The New Inn has stools along a beer shelf to the right of the entrance and a serving counter up the right-hand wall to a raised area at the rear that houses a pool table. There’s a banquette under the left-hand window adjacent to a fireplace and DJ Booth on the left-hand wall before a dartboard mid-way up towards the rear. To the left at the rear are some striped bucket chairs and tables. Televisions are found throughout with half of them on airing muted Sky Sports while some upbeat background music played from the jukebox, which was a godsend after the dross I had to listen to in many of the previous pubs I visited before here during a recent Tuesday crawl of Middleton and its environs. Standard keg was available alongside Carling so I went for half a Staropramen that wasn’t the best.

A simple pub that's basically 2 areas. To the left is a smallish room containing a dartboard. It also looks like this is where they have the karaoke nonsense. The main area stretches along the bar with a pool table to the rear. No real ale.

Opened up one room pub. The area to the left of the door looks like a karaoke/dance area as there were speakers and lights around the place. The pub has no real character at all in the decor and the clientele all seemed to be waiting for life to happen to them. No real ale, so I had a half of something fizzy. There's a quiz machine in the main room which I gave me my money back after a few quiz games. It's a pub I'll probably never go in again and I certainly won't even remember it soon.
