Corner local in an area that is not too well endowed with decent pubs. This one features in the Good Beer Guide.
There are a couple of rooms and an outdoor area to the rear. One of the rooms has a pool table. The gents toilets have one wall covered in page 3 pictures from the Sun!
White Rat & Doom Bar are the real ales. Ciders were from Weston's. Initially I only spotted the Rosie's Pig Original & Family Reserve, but I later spotted Rosie's Pig Rhubarb and the new Rosie's Pig Tropical ciders in the fridge. Luckily the landlord was on hand to explain the cider pricing to the barmaid. The ones in the fridge had a £1 mark-up per pint.
The landlord didn't stick around for long though. He left with everybody else who had been sat in the one room. Some were wearing football shirts. So, I assume they were off to the Bury pre-season friendly.
