The Mechanics Arms was a late 60s built estate pub that was just off waterloo road and close to some tower blocks.
Once inside there was a decent sized bar and a more comfortable lounge,i had a drink in the bar and this was a decent enough room to have a drink in.
This pub was a Boddingtons tied house when i visited it and there was one real ale on the bar this was Boddingtons bitter and this was a decent drink.
This pub is still standing but it is now sadly some kind of church or place of worship.
