Strongers . left this review about Edgar Wood
The Edgar Wood is an L-shaped pub with forgettable high street pub co décor and televisions throughout that were airing muted Racing TV and Sky Sports News while Magic FM played in the background during a recent late Tuesday afternoon visit. There’s a central L-shaped serving counter that supports premium and standard keg alongside four hand pumps, three of which were off leaving Doom Bar as the lone cask choice. There’s a dartboard to the right of the counter and different seating areas wrap around the exterior walls, including some raised seating in the front right. The service was polite and the locals in attendance were friendly, but I can’t see myself rushing back.

A multi-area pub with several offshoots to sit in. Its basically a L-shaped interior with a pool table to the right of the bar. It was a bit tatty but fine otherwise. It didn't seem that Irish themed to me though I may well have been a few years ago. Still has the unused handpumps on the bar.

This is a massive, fake Oirish pub in the pedestrianised area of Middleton. A very large room as you enter with a smaller room to the left. There are 7 handpumps, but no beer on any of them. They all looked rather neglected and forlorn, so I'm guessing they're never used. I had a half of something fizzy at a very low price and sat down and watched the local D4's spending their benefits. It's a sad place that could be so much better with even a little bit of effort. It's another good reason not to visit Middleton.
