They had Holt’s Bitter plus one other hoppy ale (whose name I failed to note) on handpump. Three pints of Holt’s plus a pint of Guinness came to £9.20 – prices that I could get used to paying.
This is a fairly ordinary pub most of the time – it’s carpeted, has upholstered benches, stools, and small round cheap looking pedestal tables. It would appear they sometimes have live music, judging by the small stage on the left which had a drum kit on it. However, after we had been in there a half-hour or so, at about 7.30 PM the music was cranked up to deafening levels, which seemed to be signal for a young crowd to appear. Which made it time for us to depart for pastures new. I would say that this is a nice enough unpretentious pub, as long as you visit at the right time.

Sited on the corner of Corporation Street and Miller Street, this red bricked, single roomed pub is close to Victoria Station.Called in one Tuesday afternoon, where there was not much going on in the real ale front, but did find one The Howard Town Brewery's Wrens Nest(abv4.2) which was quite a fair pint.
